The Proving Grounds Format

The Proving Grounds is a multi-phase spectacle:

Phase 1: Puzzle-like challenges testing ingenuity and teamwork under pressure.
Phase 2: Dangerous beast encounters (bears have been observed; no owlbears). The arena is muddy, packed with sawdust and blood, with cheap banners overhead and active betting rings running alongside.

Strong parties get approached by scouts and sponsors immediately after their bout. Weak parties limp out or leave on stretchers. Source: 2026.05.19.
